pH Balancing Product Review: Alkalime
pH Balancing Product Review: Alkalime
by Jen Springer
Greens are awesome for balancing our pH, but you can only chug so much liquid that tastes like freshly cut lawn.
I drink fresh vegetable juice, green powdered drink, capsules of greens, and eat tons of veggies … but I don’t feel it’s enough to balance my pH. So I add a pH balancing product to my night time regimen.
Let’s rewind to the main causes of an acidic body. Stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, being an “O” blood type, illness, and emotional distress make the body acidic.
Why should you care? Acidic body = breakdown in health.
When my pH is off, this is how I know: candida gets out of control, bloated, inflammation in my bursa and connective tissue.
Basically, I feel like a gross bloated painful mess.
The previous version of Alkalime was nasty! It tasted gross and had so much sodium bicarbonate, it was downright icky. I also felt like it messed up the pH of my stomach. Whereas this new formulation doesn’t.
I am always concerned with pH balancing products because they can shut down the precious acid production in our stomachs which messes with our digestion BIG TIME. No enzymes being catalyzed makes for undigested food.
This is the main reason I will not drink “alkaline” water from a popular pH balancing machine.
The new formulation of Alkalime is completely different and very balanced with nutrients that balance the body’s pH, it doesn’t force pH balance.
I gave the new Alkalime a try because I know I must keep my pH in check. I eat a lot of alkaline / green veggies, but I know I need to do more because of the low pH symptoms.
After about a 2 weeks on Alkalime I noticed: more frequent bowel movements, itching in ears and bloat decreased, and my body pain is gone; I feel better.
I only take it before bed, just 1 tsp.
WARNING: it is very fizzy!!! So don’t drop in the powder into a full glass of water – it will bubble over. I just “set” the spoon in about 1/4 of a glass of water and let it fizz itself out. Then I add more water.
It tastes like flat lemon / lime pop, kinda yummy in a weird way! I have added a drop of ocotea for added yeast killing, tastes even better.
