Been asking yourself “Why am I so tired?” Feeling tired and constant fatigue sucks the life out of ya and isn’t something you have to live with!
Nope, it’s not normal to have chills to your bones, even in winter. If your feeling cold, crabby, and a little cuckoo during the deepest part of winter then this simple little treatment you can do at home might be the trick you need to feel human again.
Your kidneys (adrenals included) appreciate love and support during the winter. This is why we love “comfort foods” and not salads during the super cold months. Unless you live in California or Florida, fresh produce doesn’t seem to be as satisfying as a hearty bowl of chili or stew. Why? Your body needs the heat in the winter!
A few weeks ago I scheduled a Ayuvedic hot oil massage called Abhyanga. It was very nourishing and I felt grounded, centered, and didn’t cuss for a few days (very much) after the session!
That session was so calming to my body I kept thinking, “How can I do this at home inbetween sessions?”. Then I remembered the energy boosting compress I learned YEARS ago from a book I was studying.
This session is super simple to do, anybody can do it. You can also do it on yourself if you get a bit creative with a crock / towel cabby nearby to have the compresses handy.
What you need:
1. Three hand towels (2 hot, 1 dry)
2. Nutmeg, Clove, Rosemary essential oils. Ginger & coriander are also fantastic too! EndoFlex & EnRGee from Young Living are already blended and may be the easiest & best choice.
3. Hot water
I’ve given you the directions in the video above. Just layer on the oils one by one over the kidney / adrenal area over the lower ribs on the back. Cover the area with a hot towel. Change out when cool. Keep the kidney area covered with the dry town during the exchanges so cold air doesn’t chill the area.
Your whole goal is to get HEAT into the kidney / adrenal area and a chill will not be help you in any way. Change the towels 5 times, this should take about 30 to 45 mins. Then massage the back with a nourishing massage oil, preferably warm. I liked to use a blend that is pre-made called “Relaxation”. This blend is also good to have on hand in case the compress oils get a little “hot” on the skin, it can be used to dilute if needed.
That’s it! Super easy and your body will be so happy when you’re finished.
Nourish your kindeys / adrenals and feel internally warm, grounded, & centered! You won’t be asking yourself, “Why am I so tired?” anymore. Nice, eh?
Oh, one more tip! ALWAYS cover the back of your neck during cold / windy times. This is the area where “wind” can enter your body and create havoc & imbalance. Scarves, high necks, and hoods are your friend.
